Fifty-four years ago, Dick Kiusalas established
The Cape’s pristine beauty makes it a
photographer’s dream. And inside an 1800s-era
barn in Cataumet, patrons can glimpse that allure
re昀氀ected in dozens of stunning images taken
by one of New England’s preeminent coastal
photographers. A retired musician and executive in
the music retail business, Bobby Baker has turned
to another form of art – photography – to bring joy,
hope, and inspiration into people’s lives. The vast
majority of his pieces for sale are in black and white,
giving an ethereal quality to Cape landscapes.

antique wood and turning it into custom-made
furniture that adds character, charm, and history
to his customers’ homes. These days, Kiusalas has
a half-dozen artisans who help construct an array
of pieces that include chairs, sofa tables, cabinets,
hutches, serving trays, coat racks, mirrors, and of
course, tables. Several items pay tribute to artists
Edward Gorey and Kurt Vonnegut, the latter of
which are made using wood from the author’s
home in Barnstable.
