MARTHA’S VINEYARD
By Plane:
Cape Air (800-CAPE-AIR, capeair.com) provides direct 昀氀ights to the
island from White Plains NY (seasonal) and JFK/NYC, Providence,
New Bedford, Boston (33 mins.) and Hyannis (20 mins.) year-round.
The airline has ticketing/baggage agreements with most major

JetBlue (800-JETBLUE, jetblue.com) offers non-stop 昀氀ights from
Boston to Martha’s Vineyard in season. Linear Air (877-2-LINEAR,
linearair.com) offers seasonal “shared charter” 昀氀ights on weekends
from Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA.
CAPE COD
By Plane:
Cape Air (800-CAPE-AIR, capeair.com) headquartered at Barnstable
Municipal Airport, offers 昀氀ights connecting Hyannis, Provincetown,
Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard to Boston, New Bedford and JFK/NYC
(some service is seasonal). Rectrix Shuttle (Hyannis, (774) 470-4890;
Nantucket, (774) 333-3805; rectrix.aero) provides private jet charter
昀氀ights with access to over 5,000 airports throughout the world. JetBlue
(800-JETBLUE, jetblue.com) operates non-stop daily service between
Hyannis and New York City in season. Linear Air (877-2-LINEAR,
linearair.com) provides air taxi service to Provincetown and Hyannis.
Spectaculair Charter (844-437-2247, spectaculaircharter.com) offers
charter service to Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, BOS, NY, CT, NJ, PA,
NH, VT and many more destinations.
By Bus:
Service from Boston and from Boston’s Logan Airport to Hyannis is
provided by Plymouth & Brockton’s Logan Direct (508-746-0378,
p-b.com) (2 hrs. 10 mins.) Service from Hyannis to Provincetown is
also available. Peter Pan Bus Lines (800-556-3815, peterpanbus.com)
provides service from Boston, Logan Airport, Providence RI, Worcester,
Hartford, NYC, Philadelphia and DC to 15 stops on Cape Cod.
By Car:
From Boston, take Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) South to the
Sagamore Bridge and Route 6 (the Mid-Cape Highway). (60 miles)
From New York, take I-95 North to Providence; then take I-195 East
and follow signs to Cape Cod and the Bourne Bridge. (220 miles)
From the Bourne Rotary, take Route 28 south to Falmouth and Woods
Hole, or follow signs to Route 6 (the Mid-Cape Highway). For updates

By Ferry:
High-speed ferry service between Boston and Provincetown is
provided from mid-May to mid-October by Bay State Cruise Company
(877-783-3779, baystatecruisecompany.com). Boston Harbor Cruises
(617-227-4321, bostonharborcruises.com) travels from Boston
to Provincetown from mid-May through mid-October. Plymouth to
Provincetown Fast Ferry (508-927-5579, captjohn.com/fast-ferryptown) runs in season.
By Ferry:
The Steamship Authority (508-477-8600, steamshipauthority.com)
provides passenger and limited vehicle service year-round from
Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven (45 mins.) Passenger reservations
are not required; advance auto reservations, however, are mandatory
on weekends through mid-September. From Falmouth, passengeronly service to Edgartown (1 hr.) is available from Falmouth Ferry
Service (508-548-9400, falmouthedgartownferry.com) through
mid-October; passenger service to Oak Bluffs (35 mins.) is provided
from May through October on the Island Queen (508-548-4800,
islandqueen.com). From Hyannis, high-speed passenger service
to Oak Bluffs (1 hr.) is offered by Hy-Line Cruises (800-492-8082,
hylinecruises.com) from May-October. Seastreak (800-262-8743,
seastreak.com) provides seasonal service from New Bedford to
Martha’s Vineyard (1 hr. 30 mins.), and Vineyard Fast Ferry (401-2954040, vineyardfastferry.com) operates between Quonset, RI and Oak
Bluffs through mid-October.
NANTUCKET
By Plane:
Direct 昀氀ights from White Plains NY (seasonal), JFK/NYC,
Providence, New Bedford, Boston (40 mins.), Hyannis and Nantucket
are offered year-round by Cape Air (800-CAPE-AIR, capeair.com).
Non-stop 昀氀ights from Hyannis (12 mins.) may also be booked with
Nantucket Airlines (800-635-8787, nantucketairlines.com). Linear
Air (877-2-LINEAR, linearair.com) services Nantucket with “shared
charter” 昀氀ights in season. JetBlue (800-JETBLUE, jetblue.com) is
expanding its summer service to Nantucket Memorial Airport, with
new 昀氀ights from New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Westchester
County Airport. Taxis lie in wait at the airport, and rental cars can be
picked up right at the airport from Nantucket Windmill Auto Rental
(800-228-1227) or national franchises.
By Ferry:
Service to the island for passengers and a limited number of
autos is provided year-round by the Steamship Authority (508477-8600, steamshipauthority.com) out of Hyannis. (2 hrs. 15
mins.). Passenger service requires no reservation, but advance
automobile reservations are required. Passenger-only service
is available on the Steamship Authority’s Fast Ferry (508-4953278, steamshipauthority.com) High-speed catamaran service to
Nantucket from Hyannis (1 hr.) is provided year-round by Hy-Line
Cruises (508-778-0404, hylinecruises.com). Freedom Cruise Line,
Inc. offers high-speed service from Harwich Port (508-432-8999,
nantucketislandferry.com).
* Island visitors are strongly urged to leave their private automobiles at home or on the mainland.
Taxis, a host of bicycle rental 昀椀rms and automobile rental companies will be found close by each
island’s ferry berths; auto rentals are also available at each airport.
By Rail:
Passenger rail service aboard the CapeFLYER (cape昀氀yer.com) runs
Memorial Day through Labor Day from South Station in Boston to
Hyannis. Service includes bicycle and club cars.
